Magnet
Based upon my friend Robyn's love for Magnet, we headed towards the 18th floor of the Capitol Palace hotel to see Magnet. He is a Norweigan singer-songwriter who plays like a less fey Andrew Bird, with a variety of instruments and loops. His showcase took place in a large meeting room, at the top floor of the hotel, and felt like we were attending a seminar of some sort. But the room was packed and we sat down and enjoyed his wonderful, lush melodies and inventive use of pedal steel guitar and effects.
