The criminally-overlooked Calla hail from Brooklyn, NY, but I haven't been able to see them live the last few months due to unforeseen life complications. So off we went to see a local band at the Beggars showcase, held at Club Deville. They played a short set of swaggering, satisfyingly dark, dense rock that felt only ten minutes long; I can't wait to see them headline a proper show in NYC soon.
